Innosuisse is dedicated to fostering start-up innovation by providing support to science-based projects with significant potential for innovation. These projects are rooted in application-oriented research and play a crucial role in preparing start-ups for their initial market entry.

Innosuisse plays a vital role in supporting start-ups during their pre-market phase by enabling the realization of science-based innovation projects that possess substantial potential for innovation. These projects serve as a solid foundation for start-ups as they embark on their journey to enter the market for the first time.

Eligibility criteria

  • Based in Switzerland  and has a Swiss company identification number
  • Established not longer than 5 years ago
  • Startup not on the market yet
  • Scalable business model
  • Maximum 50 Full Time Equivalent
  • Has the financial means to bear the envisaged personal contribution (at least 30% of the project costs)
  • Has an initial analysis of intellectual property rights

As part of our commitment to promoting start-up innovation, Innosuisse provides financial support for eligible projects. It’s important to note that Innosuisse covers up to 70% of the direct project costs, allowing start-ups to access substantial funding.

To ensure a shared investment and commitment, participating start-ups are required to contribute a minimum of 30% of the project costs from their own resources. This co-funding approach encourages start-ups to take an active role in their projects and strengthens their dedication to achieving success.

Innossuise Timeline

  • As of 14 February 2023, the application tool is open for new applications.
  • Innosuisse advises to submit your application at least 8 weeks prior the Innovation Council meeting.
  • Following the evaluations, Innosuisse will inform you within two weeks about the invitation to the pitch.
  • Results are issued approx. 4 weeks after the pitch date.
